Description
This warm collection of thirty-two compositions is a tribute to an area ย in London called Covent Garden. It is the main arts area in London, and this compact disc blends together many different musical types to create ย a classroom atmosphere reminiscent of this artistic haven. ย Each selection on this 62 minute CD is played with the likes of syncopation and big sweeping melodies that were so important to David Howardโs ย ballet class. The CD begins with the very familiar nocturne from Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Nightโs Dream, a standard ballet of the Royal Ballet, as well as Satie’s Gymnopedie No 1 and Fille ma Gardee. The remaining ย selections offer many familiar melodies from Puccini, Donizetti, and Johann Strauss to name just a few. The tracks are not repeated and in the traditional David Howard style, several selections at the barre contain an extra sixteen counts for bending forward and back. ย This album has been a Danceables bestseller since its release in 2002.
